DAVE LAND – 2007/2008
Dave started his playing career at the age of ten playing cornet with his local brass band.His first professional gig was at the age of fifteen where he spent two weeks playing for a touring show at the theatre royal Norwich. At the age of sixteen Dave auditioned on trumpet for a place in the Band of HM Coldstream Guards . He then moved from Norwich to London to study trumpet and cornet at Kneller Hall (Royal Military College of Music) with Ian Mackintosh (BBC Symphony Orchestra) before taking his place with the Band of HM Coldstream Guards where he held the position of solo trumpet for seven years.
After ‘de mobbing' from the HM Forces in the early eighties, Dave began his freelance career in London with the BBC ‘Come Dancing Orchestra' . From there he then began to play in the ‘West End' shows,including: Chess, Me & My Girl,On the Town, 42 nd Street Five Guys Named ‘Mo , Bless the Bride (8 mths), Annie get your Gun (1 year). The Official Tribute to the ‘Blues Brothers' , and The Chicago 'Blues Brothers' Show.
From there, Dave started on a ground breaking new show by Andrew Lloyd Webber called ‘Starlight Express' . Dave spent the next sixteen years at ‘Starlight Express' till the show ended at the Apollo Theatre Victoria in 2002 being the second longest show in British Musical history, ‘ CATS ‘being the longest.
Dave's busy freelance work carried on whilst he was at ‘Starlight Express' spending a lot of time recording and touring. Dave has over sixty albums he is credited on, he has also played on countless radio jingles and television programs including Top of the Pops, Day time Live, The Generation Game,Noel Edmonds House Party,Soldier Soldier, In Concert , The Trench,Poirot,Paradise Kitchens,SublimeSuburbia, Children in need.
Dave also has a lot of film credits including Hope & Glory, Heavens Gate, Dance to the music of Time,Rebecca,The Snow Queen & The Snow Queen 2.

Dave has toured the world from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Middle East,Russia,Sweden.Europe,North America, Canada, to the Caribbean with some of the most famous names in music including most of the MOTOWN greats: Ben E King, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas, The Four Tops,Edwin Starr,The Temptations, Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, Jimmy Ruffin,The Three Degrees, The Foundations.
In the ‘Rock' world Dave has has toured with Belinda Carlisle & Breathe (Heaven on Earth world tour), The Steve Gibbons Band, Symphonic ‘Queen', The Elvis Presley ‘TCB'Band ‘THE CONCERT'.

Dave is in great demand in the education world with a teaching post at Wymondham College as well as a long list of private pupils.He is also busy doing live concerts and recordings as well as writing music.
